DIY Grey Strapless Funky Jumpsuit
Most of the outfits I make have subtle alterations. Wanting to switch gears, I had to do something funky for my next outfit. My fabric supply is spilling out of my studio so I had plenty to play around with and be creative. Three yards of this grey knit was used. This jumpsuit was EASY to make.
The following was done:
-Traced the bodice from a strapless top I own, added an inch for seam allowance all around
- Simplicity 1355 pant bottoms were used but with these additions:
I added a triangle to the outer sides of the pants, both front and back. I can’t recall how long in inches the tip of the triangle went out past the original Simplicity pant pattern. The tip (RED DOT on image) went to the salvage/fold of the fabric. However wide the fabric was, is where the tip of the triangle stopped.
-added two center pleats in the front and back of pants to fit to the bodice
Sewed the pants, then attached to the bodice. No elastic was added to the waist.
