Sequined Caftan
I've been holding on to this panel of sequins sewn on organza for close to two years, never not knowing what to do with it. It was time to start planning out my outfits for vacation when I thought of the perfect design for the panel. I picked up 2 yards of this bohemian lace for the caftan.
I went to my favorite caftan sloper, Butterick. My edits were:
- Created a front and back yolk for the sequined panel
- Used the back pattern both front and back of caftan
- Created a 2" bias tape for the neck opening
- Back of caftan 2" longer than front
Due to the weight of the sequin panel, I stitched Stay Tape in the seams of the lace, sequins, and shoulder to prevent the organza from stretching with wear.
